Bump in
The process of loading in, rigging and setting up a production or event in a venue; bump out is the reverse.
Toolbox talk
A short safety briefing held at the start of work that covers the plan, hazards, controls and who is in charge.
Pre-flight
The systematic check of an artwork file for size, bleed, colour, resolution, fonts and links before it is released to a printer or platform.
Condition report
A written and photographic record of an artwork's physical state made when it arrives and when it leaves the gallery's care.
Release
A signed permission from a person or property owner allowing their image, voice, performance or location to be recorded and used.
Moral rights
A creator's legal rights to be credited, not to be falsely credited and to have their work treated with integrity.
Test and tag
The periodic electrical safety test of portable equipment, recorded on a tag that shows the test date and the next due date.
Call sheet
The daily schedule for a shoot listing times, location, crew, talent, contacts, hazards and the nearest hospital.
Room tone
A recording of the background sound of a location with no dialogue, used in editing to smooth cuts.
Ground support
A truss structure that stands on the ground on towers rather than hanging from a building, used for outdoor stages and events.
